To explore ferroptosis features in NAT10-depleted breast cancer cells, we performed a cystine uptake assay and observed a remarkable decrease in cystine levels in NAT10-depleted cancer cells, suggesting that cystine uptake could be impaired due to downregulation of SLC7A11 mRNA (Figure 1G, Supplementary Figure S2A). The gene discussed is SLC7A11; the disease is breast carcinoma.
