Additional studies have implicated numerous regulatory RNAs in the post-transcriptional regulation of ICAM-1 expression in various contexts, including miR-126-3p in the context of IL-6 stimulation [49]; miR-150-5p in acute respiratory distress syndrome [50] and allergic rhinitis [51], miR-223 in Kawasaki disease [52,53] and sepsis [54], miR148b-3p in coronary artery disease [55], and ICAM-1 related long non-coding RNA (ICR) in atherosclerosis [56], retinal vasculopathy [57], and hepatocellular carcinoma [58]. This evidence concerns the gene ICAM1 and atherosclerosis.
