GATA4 and cardiac hypertrophy: Reduced ROS levels inhibit Ras activation and downstream signaling via the MAPK/ERK and PI3K/Akt pathways, also inhibiting transcription factors, such as GATA binding protein 4 (GATA4) and T cell activation bioassay (NFAT) and translation factors, such as eukaryotic initiation factor 4E (elf4E) and S6 ribosomal protein (S6P), that are involved in the development of cardiac hypertrophy.
