To address the clinical relevance of the AKT/p-IWS1 pathway in patients with LPS, the expression of AKT1, AKT2, AKT3, phospho-AKT (Thr 308), phospho-AKT (Ser 473), IWS1 and phospho-IWS1 (Ser 720) in 33 retroperitoneal LPS tumor specimens and 20 adjacent normal adipose tissue specimens was examined by Western blotting (Fig. 1A and Supplementary Fig. 1A).
