According to a review by John M. Gemery et al., ABCA1-/- and ABCG1-/- mice have chronic stem cell mobilization, accelerated atherosclerosis, and increased IL-17, IL-23, and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF); in addition, elevated IL-17 and IL-23 in psoriasis might also induce stem cell upregulation/mobilization, which could hasten the establishment of atherosclerosis (169, 170). This evidence concerns the gene ABCG1 and psoriasis.
