Clinical trials with the new anti-HER2 agents in the neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings and metastatic settings in HER2-positive disease,17-20 cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors in the metastatic and adjuvant setting in hormone receptor–positive disease,21 immunotherapy in the metastatic and neoadjuvant setting in TNBC,22,23 and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors in patients with germline BRCA mutations24 have shown improvement in survival of patients with breast cancer. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast carcinoma.
