Moreover, in a dataset of primary human monocytes from 26 healthy Chinese women aged 20–45 years with either high or low peak bone mass as indicator for potential osteoporosis (NCBI Gene Expression Omnibus GEO ID; GSE7158), we observed that there was an inverse correlation between FSHR and CD36 or CD64 mRNA expression (P = 0.018 and P = 0.047, respectively) (Fig 3B). Here, FSHR is linked to osteoporosis.
