In the MDD cluster, we identified: Brd4 which is associated with neuroinflammation, anxiety-like behavior, and impaired memory (Wang et al. 2021), the postsynaptic scaffolding protein, Dlgap4, which forms a protein complex to regulate glutamatergic synapses (Kim et al. 1997) and Slc36a1, which has been proposed to be a putative biomarker for patients who experience their first depressive episode after the age of 50 (known as late-onset MDD) (Miyata et al. 2016). Here, DLGAP4 is linked to major depressive disorder.
