In alignment with this, our results show that Orai1 inhibition impaired the gene expression of Tnfa and Il1b (2 pleiotropic cytokines having an essential role in the pathogenesis of cerulein-induced pancreatitis; ref. 37) and Tgfb1 (a critical regulator of PSC activation and fibrosis; ref. 38). This evidence concerns the gene ORAI1 and pancreatitis.
