Further indications that angiogenesis is of importance for lymphoma progression include findings that addition of the VEGF-A antibody bevacizumab to rituximab treatment prolonged PFS in patients with relapsed follicular lymphoma (37), and that the anti-angiogenic multikinase inhibitor sorafenib given in monotherapy to patients with relapsed lymphoma has shown disease stabilization in patients with indolent B-NHL (38). This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and follicular lymphoma.
