TNF and rheumatoid arthritis: As of 2022, eight bDMARDs, including five tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) inhibitors (infliximab, etanercept, adalimumab, golimumab, and certolizumab pegol), three agents with other mechanisms of action (tocilizumab and sarilumab [anti-interleukin-6 receptor antibody] and abatacept [cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4-Ig]), and five tsDMARDs (tofacitinib, baricitinib, upadacitinib, peficitinib, and filgotinib) are available for treating RA in Japan.
