Clinically, when mTOR is inhibited, cytokines produced by immune cells in TLE patients are different from those produced by immune cells in nonepilepsy patients, which is associated with changes in the activity and reactivity of PI3K, mTOR, and GSK‐3, indicating that mTOR may be involved in the inflammation and pathogenesis of epilepsy (Vieira et al., 2021). Here, MTOR is linked to epilepsy.
