ZEB1 and prostate cancer: Interestingly, the dCas9‐KRAB nucleated heterochromatin formation extended locally, with ≈9000 bp downstream of the ZEB1 locus and ≈12 000 bp upstream of the ZEB1 locus, into the promoter and coding region of the neighboring gene, ZEB1 antisense 1 (ZEB1‐AS1), which encodes a long‐non coding RNA that positively regulates the expression of ZEB1 in hepatocellular carcinoma[65] and prostate cancer models.[64] Thus, it is possible that the formation of repressive heterochromatin at this locus could also re‐enforce ZEB1 silencing catalyzed by dCas9‐KRAB in the edited TNBC cells.
