Regarding inflammatory markers, the group with obesity had significantly higher total leukocytes (p < 0.005), ESR (p < 0.001), and leptin (p < 0.01) and lower total adiponectin and A/L ratio (p < 0.05) (Table 1) compared with the healthy participants. This evidence concerns the gene LEP and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
