Increases in intracellular ferritin (Fth1, Ftl) and Cybb, as well as decreases in Acsl1, Slc3a2 and Gpx4, were observed in AM-CLST13 cells (R8) sorted by FACS from mild-moderate COPD patients compared to smokers without COPD, indicating that M2 alveolar macrophages had marked changes in ferroptosis (Figure 5B). This evidence concerns the gene FTH1 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
