Lipin-1 is closely related to alcoholic steatohepatitis in adipose tissue by overexpression of adipose-specific lipin-1, which in turn accelerates iron accumulation, causes lipid peroxidation, reduces GSH and GAPDH, and promotes ferroptotic liver damage in mice after alcohol administration (Zhou et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene LPIN1 and alcoholic fatty liver disease.
