Because the patients included in the aforementioned reports were >70 years of age with mixed solid tumors, stages, and treatments (30, 35), we hypothesize that GPS 2 (i.e., elevated CRP and hypoalbuminemia) may be related to the physiological processes underlying cancer, aging, and geriatric vulnerabilities which comprised the deficit accumulation frailty scores.
