Several previous studies have reported that the loss of imprinting (LOI) of IGF2 in peripheral blood (leukocytes or lymphocytes) may be a potential biomarker for the risk of developing CRC (12, 32), and IGF2 methylation alterations were suggested as a surrogate marker for LOI of IGF2 (32, 33).
