Due to such counterintuitive findings, we speculated that these cases might represent admixture with the Luminal Androgen Receptor Subtype (LARS) of triple-negative breast cancer, which displays significant ER and PR expression, but we found no associations between LARS signature gene panels and degree of basal admixture, and only rare occurrence of triple-negative status [15, 16]. Here, AR is linked to triple-negative breast carcinoma.
