LDL‐C lowering was associated with higher HbA1c, an indicator for increased risk of diabetes, for both HMGCR (beta in mmol/mol per 1 mg/dL decrease in LDL‐C 0.03, 95% CI 0.01, 0.04) and NPC1L1 (beta 0.05, 95% CI 0.03, 0.08) (Figure 3B). Here, NPC1L1 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
