Interestingly, our findings revealed that administration of a candidate synthetic DUSP2 inhibitor (salubrinal) before the challenge reduced the neutrophilic airway inflammation and cytokine responses (IL-17A, TNF-α) of the steroid-resistant asthma mouse model, suggesting a protective effect of salubrinal in steroid-resistant asthma. This evidence concerns the gene DUSP2 and asthma.
