A growing body of literature suggests that diverse blood vessel changes, including aberrant angiogenesis, vascular pruning, inflammation, senescence, and other remodeling events, occur alongside AD-related pathologic aggregation of amyloid β and tau (Brown and Thore, 2011; Bennett et al., 2018; Bryant et al., 2020; Lau et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
