It has been reported that in colorectal cancer, cetuximab can stimulate ferroptosis in KRAS mutant colorectal cancer cells by inhibiting the NFF2/HO-1 signaling axis, thereby increasing their cytotoxicity (26); Lipocalin-2 (27) and SRSF9 (28) can promote the activity of ferroptosis proteins SLC7A11, GPX4 to inhibit ferroptosis in colon cancer cells, and thereby affecting cellular drug resistance. This evidence concerns the gene HMOX1 and colorectal cancer.
