Interestingly, Patient A had a history of three aggressive cancers, as well as a history of prior grade 4 toxicity after prior stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) to the pancreas (ie. hemorrhagic shock secondary to superior mesenteric artery pseudoaneurysm bleed, which occurred eight months after SBRT, 40 Gy in four fractions), which altogether would suggest the potential for both a high-risk ATM genotype and phenotype. The gene discussed is ATM; the disease is cancer.
