Compared to BDNF+/+ controls, male and female BDNF+/Met mice spent relatively less time (FGenotype (1, 48) = 20.43, p < 0.0001, FSex (1, 48) = 0.005, p = 0.94, Figure 1D) and number of entries (FGenotype (1, 48) = 21.93, p < 0.0001, FSex (1, 48) = 0.39, p = 0.53, Figures 1E,F) in the open arms, confirming diminished activity-dependent BDNF signaling induced anxiety-like behaviors in both sexes under a stress condition.
