Based on the above findings, it is clear that there exists signaling cross-talks between RKIP and PTEN, namely, the cross-talk between the MAPK and the PI3K/AKT pathway and the dysregulated NF-κB/Snail/YY1/RKIP/PTEN in cancers whereby the downregulation/inhibition of either RKIP or PTEN results in a reciprocal regulation of the other gene product. The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is cancer.
