Park et al. investigated the regulation of breast cancer gluconeogenesis by RNA interference (RNAi) targeting two isoforms of NEAT1 in the highly glycosylated human breast cancer cell line BT -474, and found that Neat1 first binds to PGK1 and upregulates a number of glycolytic enzymes in breast cancer, such as phosphoglyceramylase 1 (PGAM1) and alpha-enolase (ENO1) [49]. Here, PGK1 is linked to breast carcinoma.
