INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Statistical analysis revealed that streptozotocin caused extremely significant (p < 0.001) induced type 2 diabetes in experimental albino rat models by specific cytotoxicity action on pancreatic β-cells, led to affect the endogenous insulin release/action or both, resulted an increased in the fasting blood glucose (mg/dl) and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels measured on (0, 4, 7) days and (7, 9) weeks respectively using Glucometer (AccuChek Active Performa, Roche, Germany) in STZ treated/type 2 diabetic group (D1) as contrasted to untreated/control group (C1) as presented in Table 1.
