STYK1 (serine/threonine/tyrosine kinase 1), a newly identified oncogenic protein that belongs to the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family, has been reported to promote many types of cancer development and metastasis through activating MEK/ERK and PI3K/AKT signaling (Huang et al., 2019; Wang et al., 2016) and facilitate the genesis and remodeling of blood and lymphatic vessels during tumor progression (Liu et al., 2016).
