Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients, harboring sensitizing epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations, such as L858R point mutations and exon 19 deletions around codons 746–750, have shown significant response to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), such as gefitinib, erlotinib and icotinib (Gonzalvez et al., 2021; Hsu et al., 2018). The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
