In acute myeloid leukemia, however, RUNX1 and its cofactor CBFβ inhibit MYC expression by binding BDME, another MYC enhancer 0.4 Mb downstream of N-Me, indicating that RUNX1 has both tumor-suppressive and oncogenic activities depending on leukemia subtypes [31,75,76]. This evidence concerns the gene RUNX1 and leukemia.
