Aberrations and mutations in cell cycle regulatory genes such as TP53, CDKN2A and MYC as well as PI3K regulatory genes such as PIK3CA, PTEN, MTOR and TSC1 or epigenetic regulatory genes such as PBRM1, BAP1, SETD2 and KDM5C are recurrently altered in ccRCC and are believed to promote tumor evolution and growth [5,6]. The gene discussed is PIK3CA; the disease is neoplasm.
