Severe asthma refractory to biologic agents seems likely to be sustained by a significant slice of T2-low inflammation characterized by different T-cell effectors (T-helper 1 and T-helper 17) and specific cytokines (IL-17, IL-6, IL-8, interferon (IFN) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is asthma.
