PKP2 and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy: It can be an effective agent for both ventricular and atrial arrhythmias; however, its use has been limited by significant proarrhythmic effects, particularly in the post-MI population demonstrated in the CAST trial and evidence from animal models that have suggested it may be pro-arrhythmic in the setting of PKP2 haploinsuffiency—the most common genetic mutation observed in ARVC [27,28].
