In a systematic review by Tjendra et al. [23], several hematologic and coagulation biomarkers were found to be significantly altered, including lymphopenia (decreased CD3, CD4, CD8 T-lymphocytes), neutrophilia, increased neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), thrombocytopenia, decreased eosinophil count, prolonged prothrombin time (PT), increased D-dimers, and increased fibrinogen or fibrinogen degradation products (FDP). The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is lymphopenia.
