It should be noted that in about 5–7% of cases, AL amyloidosis can occur in the context of IgM-secreting clones (hence more immature, CD138- elements), occasionally in association with Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia [59], as well as in association with other hematologic disorders (e.g., non-Hodgkin lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia) in exceptional cases [60]. The gene discussed is SDC1; the disease is Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia.
