The molecular mechanisms of the pro-apoptotic effects of human-derived Lactobacillus reuteri (ATCC 6475) on myeloid leukemia-derived cells have previously been investigated, with findings indicating down-regulation of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappa B)-dependent gene products that mediate cell survival-related genes (BCL-2 and BCL-XL). Here, BCL2L1 is linked to myeloid leukemia.
