Although this may underestimate the costs for some investigations (e.g. FBC and CRP) that may be repeated during admission, investigations that represent proportionally the largest group of costs (e.g. pelvic ultrasounds, combined VVS and CT/MRI scans) are usually performed once during a patient’s hospital admission and are more likely to reflect typical resource use quantities in the CPP population. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is central precocious puberty.
