In our study, we demonstrated that knockdown of EIF4A3 could inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis in BLCA cells and the underlying mechanism could be correlated with the activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway (Fig. S1F) which is considered a key modulator to inhibit apoptosis and regulate cell survival (Fresno Vara et al., 2004). The gene discussed is EIF4A3; the disease is bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
