To further determine whether the activated (CD69high) T cells and NK cells were prone to death and exhaustion after using PD-1 mAb, we used PHA to activate PBMCs from either healthy volunteers (n = 3) or NSCLC patients (n = 3) (Fig. 3A) and analyzed the activation status of T cells and NK cells by gating CD45+CD3+CD69+ cells and CD45+CD3−CD20−CD69+ cells, respectively (Fig. 3B). The gene discussed is CD69; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
