Although LYVE1+ macrophages are also present in the omentum, removal of LYVE1+ macrophages suppressed intraperitoneal tumor growth of ID8 cells in an omentectomized mouse model, demonstrating that LYVE1+ macrophages in the peritoneal membrane promote intraperitoneal expansion of ovarian cancer independent of the omentum (24). Here, LYVE1 is linked to neoplasm.
