In a population-based case-control study of women from the Stockholm area, the odds of CAD in the highest versus the lowest quartile of Lp(a) declined from 5.1 (95% CI, 1.4 to 18.4) in premenopausal to 2.4 (95% CI, 1.3 to 4.5) in postmenopausal women, respectively [25]. This evidence concerns the gene LPA and coronary artery disorder.
