CRP and necrotizing enterocolitis: In conclusion, based on our laboratory examination and analysis of the clinical data and radiological manifestations of NEC patients in our center, we found that hypothermia, absent bowel sounds, WBC > 20 × 109/L or < 5 × 109/L, CRP > 50 mg/L, pneumatosis intestinalis, and ascites were independent risk factors for surgical intervention.
