One of the most discussed theories, explaining the Q/A-induced ATP depletion in cancer cells, particularly K3/A-treated and CoQ0-treated, attributes this effect to the activation of poly-[ADP ribose] polymerase 1 (PARP1) and inhibition of glycolysis, as a result of an acute depletion of NAD+ [4,7,20,64,65].
