p-STAT3 protein levels in the cerebral cortex were also significantly increased in the sepsis group (0.183 ± 0.02, mean ± SEM, n = 8) as compared to the vehicle (0.097 ± 0.01, mean ± SEM, n = 6; p < 0.01) and the vehicle + ITK-inhib (0.103 ± 0.012, mean ± SEM, n = 6; p < 0.01) groups; however, the sepsis + ITK-inhib group (0.155 ± 0.015, mean ± SEM, n = 8; p > 0.05) did not have any significant difference in the p-STAT3 levels as compared to the sepsis group (0.183 ± 0.02, mean ± SEM, n = 8). This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and Sepsis.
