PON1 and Alzheimer disease: Meta-analysis of fifteen studies (involving five polymorphisms) on the relationship between PON1 SNPs and AD [86] found that the A allele of the rs705379 SNP (PON1 107/108 G/A) conferred an increased susceptibility to AD (odds ratio 0.7, p = 0.002) while the GG genotype decreased AD risk (odds ratio 1.21, p = 0.009) in the Caucasian population.
