Regarding AD, although advances in understanding the multifactorial feature of the disease exist [21,22], its etiopathology still remains not completely clear, and to date, the available therapy is only symptomatic and essentially based on AChE (or BChE) inhibitors, with some promise coming from inhibitors of MAO B and amyloid beta (Aβ) plaque formation and aggregation.
