Particularly, certain cytokines and chemokines recently identified in AD inflammation, including regulated upon activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted (RANTES; CCL5), thymus and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC; CCL17), macrophage-derived chemokine (MDC), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1; CCL2), and macrophage inflammatory protein-3α (MIP-3α; CCL20; LARC; Exodus-1; Scya20), are potential therapeutic targets for AD. This evidence concerns the gene CCL5 and Alzheimer disease.
