Brown et al., have demonstrated that the antiproliferative effects of DHEA in ERα positive MCF-7 and triple-negative MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells are, at least in part, mediated by its binding to the CB1, since the inhibition of the CB1 by specific antagonists decreased the antiproliferative and antitumoral activities of DHEA in breast cancer cells.
