Figure 3 shows a comparison of artificial neural networks (ANN) and biological neurons. In the study, the information of 268 patients was selected and divided into two groups of IDA and thalassemia. The random sampling technique was used regardless of the sex and age criteria. All patients with thalassemia had HbA2 levels above 3.5% and iron deficiency was confirmed by the ferritin test (<8.0 ng/mL) in women and (<28.0 ng/mL) in men. The architecture of the proposed ANN is shown in Figure 4. The model showed sensitivity of 93.13% and specificity of 92.33%, respectively [41]. Here, HBA2 is linked to nutritional disorder.
