CD8A and nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma: An exhaustive phenotypic characterization of immune cells within localized ccRCC tumors using flow cytometric analysis showed that tumors at high risk of early progression contained a population of CD8+ PD-1+ cells that co-expressed TIM-3 and LAG-3 and exhibited an exhausted phenotype with decreased cytotoxic potential, polyclonality and enrichment of M2 TAMs [66].
